WELCOME TO GSK! Beginner Online Karate Classes for Kids
At Great Start Karate, our live, online karate classes for beginners are designed for kids ages 6 to 15 — combining physical fitness, character growth, and fun, interactive learning, all from home. These pre-teen years set the foundation for focus, confidence, and healthy habits that last a lifetime. Whether your child is full of energy, shy and building confidence, or looking for a new activity that feels exciting and purposeful, GSK is the perfect place to begin.
Our comprehensive program takes kids step by step from White Belt to Black Belt, helping them build confidence, discipline, and leadership at every level. Each stage is designed to be both fun and achievable, so students experience real progress while learning skills that last a lifetime.
Beginner Classes Different
Every class is taught in real time by expert black belt instructors who guide and encourage each student — all from home.
Karate gives kids a full-body workout while they learn focus, discipline, and the thrill of mastering new techniques — perfect for homeschool families who want fitness with meaning.
Dynamic Zoom screens take kids to inspiring places like Japan and Brazil, where they explore martial arts traditions while training.
Each month highlights a new life skill like Respect or Effort. Students earn Life Skill stripes for their belt or tracker, building character and motivation.
First Class Free
Every child begins their journey at Great Start Karate with a private, one-on-one lesson — a relaxed and personal way to experience what makes our program so special. During this session, your child will meet with Sensei Jan or Sensei Katie for a fun, personalized introduction to karate. This first class gives kids the confidence and foundation they need to join our Beginner Classes with success.
For homeschool families, it’s a fun and active way to meet PE goals while helping kids develop strength, focus, and confidence. Parents love that every class combines movement, structure, and character growth in a positive, screen-based environment designed just for kids.

You’ll receive a confirmation text from Sensei Jan to personally welcome you and help your child get started. We’ll make sure your child feels comfortable, confident, and excited for their first class.
Program Cost
Membership is $79 per month with unlimited live classes each week. Families receive 50% off the 2nd family member, and the 3rd trains free, making Great Start Karate an affordable option for siblings training together from home.

Students can attend as many live classes each week as they’d like, giving families the flexibility to train around homeschool schedules, vacations, and busy family life. Kids progress faster while staying active and engaged
year-round.
Every new student receives a special welcome package with 12 monthly Life Skill sticker stripes, a Life Skill Tracker, fun collectible stickers, and a few surprises that make kids smile. Parents love how this kit turns goal-setting and progress tracking into something visual, positive, and fun.
Each month, students are invited to join free themed online events like Pokémon Power Play, Minecraft Challenge Night, and Harry Potter Training Camp. These fun, interactive gatherings bring kids together for games, creativity, and community — building friendships beyond class.
What Comes Next
After completing the Beginner program, students advance to our Intermediate Karate Classes for Kids, where they build on their foundation with new techniques, stronger focus, and exciting challenges that keep them motivated and growing. Your child will learn karate from expert black belt instructors who make focus,
confidence, and respect part of every class.
